"sweet retro"

I thought I would share some pictures of the invitations I made for my daughter's 4th birthday. I'll post the rest after the party.

Avocado Kiss inspired...

I had some girlfriends over tonight to get together and wanted to share some pics from the evening. I made a lemon cake yesterday (got the idea and recipe from C, who got it from Ina Garten when she was on the Oprah show - this cake is seriously good), wrapped it in wax tissue paper and twine from Garnish and tied the recipe on the back for guests to take home. I labelled the water bottles and made tags for the food and beverages - just simple black on white, except the water bottles I did in pink and green. We were having a bit of a spa night so I also packaged up some of my favourite bath salts with information/instructions about the product and stapled on a really great ribbon from Paper Source.

post it

I was mailing some long overdue letters this weekend and picked up a Canada Post brochure. It was all about how to create and order personalized stamps/postage. We all know that this has been a possibility for a long time but until lately it has seemed like a daunting task for a couple to do in amongst all the other wedding preparations. This website and/or order form make it super easy to do. I played around with it and uploaded an image (which took 2 seconds) from my computer and had a choice of 4 stamps. You can crop it how you like and you order per sheet (20 stamps per sheet). The picture I chose would be great for Thank you cards though you could really use any image for anything - I may even scan a drawing of my daughters to use for her birthday invitations.

Our First Inspiration Board

We did this inspiration board for one of our brides. She wanted something simple, but elegant, with a touch of something unique. We thought of a chocolate, cream and grey colour palette, with a hit of yellow for the unexpected. I love the birdcage veil, it totally suits the fun personality of this bride.
