DIY Fabulous!

Can you believe that this is a DIY project?! The cider was hand pressed and the labels were made by the couple. And all of this for about $2.00 a bottle. What a fabulous favour for a wedding. Check out the post at 100 Layer Cake.

Etsy treasures!

It's been a while since we have done a post on one of our favorite things...Etsy.

The first treasure is this sweet shop, For The Love Of All Things Creative.  These beautiful glass creations are definitely something I have not seen before...and she also does custom work if you are looking for something special.

Next up is Kelly Vivar.  Her line is called Inu Jewelry.  It's beautiful, delicate, hammered silver and brass.  I love this set of five rings, but there is so may different things to choose from.  Again, this artist will make custom pieces, perfect for your wedding party.

Finally, Paloma's Nest.  We have posted about them before, and they always have such unique treasures.  These monogram bowls would be perfect for your bridesmaids....a great way to store their earrings, rings and other jewelry.

Here are some great labels that you could use for your wedding or celebration....or really any day, for that matter.

Take a look at all the free downloads here, you will never know what you'll find!

Avocado Kiss inspired...

I had some girlfriends over tonight to get together and wanted to share some pics from the evening. I made a lemon cake yesterday (got the idea and recipe from C, who got it from Ina Garten when she was on the Oprah show - this cake is seriously good), wrapped it in wax tissue paper and twine from Garnish and tied the recipe on the back for guests to take home. I labelled the water bottles and made tags for the food and beverages - just simple black on white, except the water bottles I did in pink and green. We were having a bit of a spa night so I also packaged up some of my favourite bath salts with information/instructions about the product and stapled on a really great ribbon from Paper Source.

fellow canuck!

I have been searching for this site for a long time! I found Karen Smallbone's favour site a while ago, but then when my computer crashed, I lost all my bookmarks, and couldn't exactly remember the address. Thanks to Weddingbee, I've found her again. I love her favour ideas, especially the lollipops! I am also digging the fact that she is Canadian and prices are in Canadian funds. For Canadian brides, it is so hard to find cool web stores that actually come from our country! (if you know of any, send me the links!) Please be sure to check her out! Also link over to Barebonephoto. I'm going to do a post on them later...

and we're back to green!

Again...our inspiration colour from the Spring 2008 Pantone colour trends. Here are a a few favour ideas from Beau Coup.

I know this wedding dress has nothing to do with the colour green, but it's so beautiful that I couldn't resist...after all, what's wedding talk without the dress!

This beautiful creation is from Elie by Elie Saab Collection.

Do me a favour

This is just a sampling of the endless wedding favour possibilities available at Garnish. This is a great website to get inspiration for your big day. Whether you choose to give away candies in their small gable box or cookies in one of their glassine bags, your guests will surely be impressed with your creativity. They even have totally cool metal CD cases. Garnish provides the blank canvas, and you add your own special touch...if you're not feeling too crafty, check out their ideas page.

We think you could use Garnish for:

- packaging all kinds of wedding favours
- chocolate, cookies, mini cakes...virtually anything!

- a special package for goodies to keep children busy during the reception

- welcome kits for out of town guests

- bridesmaids gift packs

We have both ordered from this great website, so we can tell you that their products are fantastic. I have used them for a cookie exchange and a sunday brunch, and M, the other half of Avocado Kiss has used them for Christmas leftovers and Superbowl Sunday. The best part is they sent us a handwritten thank you note! Now this is something a lot of bride's could learn from...
