I love this colour scheme...Martha calls in "Cameo and Black", I call it pretty! I usually find that if you are going to use black as a part of your wedding, you need to balance it out with something very soft, and this palest of pinks is just perfect!

C...I have the name imprinted in my head, pretty much because I think I had almost all 9 of them - so yummy but felt totally yuck the next day!!!! However, will continue to purchase and look forward to sipping them on a hot day. They come in great flaves like Cranberry/Blueberry, Strawberry/Rhubarb & Black Currant/Blueberry. And yeah...off for my 3rd shower to rid myself of the bonfire smoke.

wondering....

M and I are back from our weekend at camp. "Camp" is not to be confused with 'camping', like in a tent. Our "Camp" is a 30 foot trailer, with every amenity of home. We leave it parked in a site on a very nice lake for fishing, and it just happens that M has a "Camp" there as well, as do a couple other friends. It's a lot of fun, and much cheaper than a cottage! Together with the Husbands, and M's daughter G, we had a great time. There's nothing like sitting around the campfire, after a yummy meal, with a few drinks in hand, someone on the guitar with some fun songs, and great conversation. That's what life is all about people!

Though, it did leave me wondering a few things:

1. Why do I know all the words to She's Like The Wind, by Patrick Swayze? (heard while listening to the Movin' Easy station on my Sirius satellite radio)

2. I've come to the realization that while M and I try to relive our youth by drinking fruity vodka coolers, it won't make us feel like we are in high school again...just really tired the next day.

3. That Ugg's, and some may call them ugly...I beg to differ, I could definitely find uglier things to wear on my feet...are like THE best invention ever for a weekend out at camp. They are warm, easy to take on and off and, I'll say it again, they are warm.

4. That an almost 4 year old (that would be G) can give you the funniest one liners of the whole weekend!

And just in case you would too would like to try a few tasty vodka coolers yourself, here are some that M found at our local LCBO:
These Mojo drinks are totally YUM-O! They have fresh flavours like Dragonfruit, a little bit of fizz and not a lot of sweet...perfect for a summer day.

These Pomtini drinks are equally yummy, there is also one with mixed with blueberry...and it has pomegranates in it, so it has to be good for you, non?

We also had these yummy slushy vodka drinks...but I can't remember what the brand was, so I'm still searching! In the meantime, I have to go wash the lovely campfire smell out of my hair, for the second time today...

taking a small vay-cay...

C and I are heading out to camp today with the husbands to enjoy our May Long Weekend. We have lots planned, movies, a few bevvies and hopefully a little sun burn. We're really supposed to be going fishing but most likely the men will go out and we'll be hanging with my 4 year old doing crafts and drinking unidentifiable beverages out of plastic bottles.

some great pieces

I was browsing on etsy this morning and came accross this shop called Originals by Lynette. She had the most fantastic pieces for your hair and jewellery - it's a great mix of vintage, chic and classic styles. The prices are also totally reasonable. Keep this girl in mind when thinking about your accessories for your wedding day or any other occasion (I may just pick up a few to simply spoil myself).

shoes, shoes and more shoes

I've been in Vancouver for a few days visiting the fam....there a few things I've learned. First off, it rains a lot, but when it's sunny, it's spectacular.

Second, there is no way I'm eco-friendly enough to live in this city. Sure, there are lots of cars everywhere, but people also ride their bikes a lot and everyone brings their own shopping bags everywhere! I even saw a woman at The Bay (a Canadian department store) bring her own bag for her purchases. If only I could be so dedicated!

Third, I have learned not to wear my Puma California sneakers without socks when I go shopping (can you say multiple blisters all over my feet!)

And lastly, Vancouver is a great place to shop...especially for shoes! I've managed to purchase 4 pairs, which is like 1 pair for each day I've been here. And can I also say, that they are all comfortable, suitable for everyday and not one has a stiletto in sight! (On a side note, when packing to come here, I couldn't figure out what shoes I wear in warm weather, besides flip flops and my Tory Burch flats which just don't stay on my feet...I've been in Uggs to long!) I've also noticed that Vancouver has a large selection of comfortable shoes, it must be because people walk everywhere.

These are my ultimate fave...Hispanitas Mango T-Bar. Mine are pink and gold and they are FABULOUS!

I'm still lusting after the Calvin Klein Parma shoes I posted a few days ago, but figure I need everyday shoes more. I also purchased a pair of hiking shoes from Ecco, sort of like a mary jane style, but I can't find a picture. I think I will have very happy feet all summer long!
